The Symposium on the Lausanne Peace Treaty in the 100th Anniversary of the Republic was held on 2-3 November 2023 at the Troia Cultural Centre.
Our center, in collaboration with the Department of History of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Atatürk Principles and Revolution History Research and Application Center, and the Turkish Hearths (Türk Ocakları) Çanakkale Branch, with the support of the Turkish Historical Society, the Directorate of Gallipoli Historical Site, Turkish Hearths Istanbul and Balıkesir Branches, and the Çanakkale Tourist Guides Chamber, successfully organized the "Symposium on the Treaty of Lausanne on the Centenary of the Republic" on November 2-3, 2023, at Troia Cultural Center. The opening speech was delivered by our center's director, Prof. Dr. Aşkın Koyuncu.
The symposium welcomed expert academics from various universities, including Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Ankara University, Boğaziçi University, Dokuz Eylül University, Fenerbahçe University, Hacettepe University, Istanbul University, Istanbul Medeniyet University, Marmara University, Trakya University, and Yıldız Technical University. Following two days of presentations, a visit to the Çanakkale Martyrs' Memorial was organized with the support of the Çanakkale Tourist Guides Chamber, featuring a presentation by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Barış BORLAT.
